Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is the one who initiated modern science's study on children's memory of eyewitnesses and the application of child witnesses in the court system. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer she has won many awards and grants. She has advised a variety of government bodies and administrations throughout the world regarding policies and studies pertaining to the way children are treated by the justice system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She holds memberships in many professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a participant in the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child policy and practice.
